wahooooo

I have come to realize that the level of stress in my life is directly proportional to the closeness of the end of the semester.  Honestly, things have been CRAZY!  Between getting up for practices at 6 am for lacrosse and countless projects that professors have decided to squeeze in, I have started to become completely and entirely STRESSED! 

 I am looking forward to Thanksgiving break so that I can have some time to clear my head!  This year I will be staying up at Slippery Rock for most of the break to work at my job at the Grove City Outlets.  The Outlets will be opening at midnight on Black Friday, and to be honest I am quite scared.  Now, I have worked a Black Friday in retail before, but the store i worked in was HUGE so it didn't have much of an effect on my department.  However, the store that I work in now is TINY; which means lots of people cramped into a tiny space which = scary.

Now for something completely unrelated, the weather here in Slippery Rock has been crazy.  It goes from literally snowing one day to 70 degrees a few days later.  I guess that is western Pennsylvania for you!!!!

it's about time..

First off, can I start by saying please ignore that gross picture of me up at the top of the page.  When the pictures for this thing were taken, I was unfortunately battling a nasty sinus infection, resulting in my gross appearance!!  One thing that is NOT to look forward to when coming to college is the variety of colds running rampant here. I have encountered some nasty illnesses during my time here, and it seems no matter what is "going around," I will catch it.  Oh well, thankfully I am finally feeling better!

A lot of stuff has happened since I last wrote.  My brother got married on September 20, so I went home (which is only about an hour away) for the ceremony.  It was a really nice day and I had a lot of fun at the reception, so overall it was good times.  This weekend was fall break..which for most people means four days of freedom but nope, not for me!!

On Friday I had lacrosse practice, and on Saturday I ended up working a double shift at my job, 9 am until 9 pm!  However, it actually wasn't so bad and the big paycheck will be worth it!  On Sunday I traveled to Allegheny college with my lacrosse team to compete in a tournament.  Our team has really improved a lot and I can already see that this year will be a lot better than last year.  The freshman that we have recruited are awesome and are a great addition to our team.  After my lacrosse tournament, my parents picked me up at Allegheny and I headed home to enjoy the next two days of my break.  I spent the majority of monday running errands and of course doing one of my favorite things to do, $SHOPPING!$  Today (Tuesday) we left to come back to school around 10 am and now here I am!

Unfortunately, since I was so busy during fall break, I put off a bunch of homework.  Procrastination is not a good thing!!!  So, off I go to do some homework :(  no fun.

Introduction...

Hi everyone!  So I am new to this whole blogging thing but here it goes...I am starting my sophomore year here at Slippery Rock.  I am a Communication-Emerging Technology and Multimedia major and I recently picked up a minor in Spanish.  I am a member of the varsity women's lacrosse team as well as a member of the honors program.  Overall, I would say that I am pretty busy and active here, but I love every minute of it!  That's all I can think of to write about for now, there will be more to come soon!  Anywho, I wanted to test out the picture function on this thing, so here is a picture of my cat, isn't he too cute? :)
